Good day beauties! How ya'll doing??;) Today I'll be sharing about some foundation stuffs and also the ones that i'm currently using. I wear makeup occasionally and not on a daily basis. I'm using all drugstore foundations. So you could easily get your hands on them. I'm starting to get into makeup much nowadays. So,i thought lemme completely finish all the drugstore one's..get a lil bit clear and move on to high-end brands.
Few tips to select the right foundation shade:
Firstly, foundation serves as a canvas for the rest of your makeup and the best one blends on smoothly and evenly, meshing with your skin. Plus a bottle of foundation lasts quite awhile. For me it's almost been a year and a half..i'm not a daily user but use it quiet often maybe 5 applications/month or so. I think this would last me another year or more.
Remember, knowing your skin type, level of desired coverage, and your personal preferences are key to finding a foundation you'll love to use. Before you apply your foundation don't forget to moisturize your face well followed by a primer for longevity of your makeup.
1. Which shade to select: Always choose the shade that's equal or majorly a shade darker to your natural skin tone. If u feel that choosing a lighter shade would make you look
fairer or brighter..then ur doing it wrong. You'll just end up being like the Annabelle doll from the conjuring movie. Ain't nobody wants that sexy face!
2. How to select the right shade: Never trust the girls at the makeup counter. Always choose the shade that you want and try it on your face directly and not blending it at the back of your hand. Back of your face and your face having the same color doesn't work always. So,take that extra minute to try it on one half of the face and compare it. If it blends in perfectly without any cakey or odd looking face then that's the one for u.
3. Types of foundation: There are quite a lot of foundations but let me make it simple. Following is a rundown of the types of foundations
you will find anywhere you shop for makeup.
●Maybelline fit me
●Revlon color-stay foundation
2.Cream foundation- Similar to liquid foundation, but lil bit thicker in consistency. Can be used for both skin types.Medium to full coverage.Layering up isn't necessarily needed but u can if you'd wish to. Oily skin beauties should apply some setting/loose powder after the foundation to keep it mattifying so that it dosen't turn out to be too oily.Easy to blend. Can use fingers to blend in effortlessly,if u don't have any tools.
●L'oreal true match minerals
●Coloressence HD loose powder(can be used as a powder foundation to)
4.Tinted/BB/CC cream foundations- These has captured so much attention recently. You could almost see all the brands coming up with these type of foundations. It has sheer-medium coverage, the application is very easy, less to blend in. It's mostly useful for office going people(daily use) or people who travel much. Well suited for dry/normal/oily skin beauties. There's quiet a large variety.
●Maybelline New York BB cream
●L'Oreal true match BB cream
●Lakme complexion CC cream
●Lakme face magic skin tints souffle
●Lakme 9 to 5 mattifying super with SPF
5.Mousse foundations: This one's my favorite type. The texture is typically like the chocolate mousse but sad thing its not edible. This is so soft and fluffy as soon as you rub it in between your fingers..u can jus feel it melting away. Easily applicable..blending is not at all needed. Single layer is more than enough. gives sheer-medium coverage. Building up dosent work for this type. I feel it makes the face cakey after the 1st layer. Quick application..a daily use product and for office going people.
●Lakme absolute matte skin natural mousse
●Rimmel stay matte liquid mousse foundation
●Maybelline dream matte mousse foundation
How to apply foundation : There are various tools out there in the market to achieve a flawless finish. Your hands and fingers be the first and easily available tool. I use a Foundation brush to cover it evenly. I mix the foundation using my fingers and dab it in my face using my fingers. Applying with fingers is much easy dosent require a lot of foundation, but wouldn't give you a flawless finish. A Flat top kabuki foundation brush does a pretty neat job as well.Next is the ever famous Beauty Blender..heard so much awesome reviews about it,yet to get my hands on one. It sure dose give you a perfect and even finish. The freaking Airtis oval brush..dont cha freaking spend that freaking money on this freaking thing...gosh it's freaking killing me! oh alryt i freaked out too much*duh! There are a lot of dupes that you can easily find on amazon. Does give you a flawless finish. The Air-brush tool..gives an air-brushed look.Better than spending your money on a flat top oval shaped brush.
I'm currently using these 5 foundations:
Talking about myself..I'm medium toned person with normal-dry skin. Hav dry patches in my cheek area and corners of my mouth. I use a mixture of two foundations. Equal parts of maybelline fit me in 330 and revlon colourstay warm golden/L'Oreal true match in rosy vanilla. If your skin texture and tone is exactly like mine then you could use the same shade as i do.
